About Ken - THC Hotels and Resorts Owner
Ken has worked in the tourism industry for over 4 decades, beginning his career with Tourist Hotel Corporation New Zealand, which was originally founded by the New Zealand government in the late 1960s.
THC was founded on the back of a mandate to train tourism employees. When THC was eventually sold, Ken bought the brand with the long term view to re-invigorate the brand with a strong focus on training.
Ken has held senior General Manager and Senior Regional and New Zealand Management roles for companies such as Tourist Hotel Corporation, Accor, Mantra, Intercontinental, Park Royal, and Outrigger Hotels and Resorts.
The hotels he has managed have varied from 5-star deluxe hotels to unbranded Strata Hotels or apartments. Ken also had a stint where he was seconded to the Bank of China, heading up a team of managers who were contracted to re-position non-performing hotels.
Ken has had the privilege of working with, and for, celebrities and Royalty, and the greater privilege of being part of the holiday experience for the everyday person and their families.
